Previously allow me to introduce myself first. Introducing my name is Raka Prima Arkananta, I come from a simple family, my family and I live in Wonorejo Village, Kec. Wonopringgo Regency. Pekalongan.

On this occasion I will tell a little about my experience when I was in a boarding school

The life experience of being a santri has its own story and impressions for me living in Islamic boarding schools, an experience that I may never forget during my life. The twists and turns of the journey to become a santri certainly give a different color, because there are so many stories that I could not get when I lived outside the Islamic boarding school.

Since graduating from elementary school, I really wanted to study at a boarding school (so that I'm good at religious knowledge) hehe, although many people think that a boarding school is like a prison where freedom is restricted and there are lots of rules. For me, the hut is indeed a prison, but a sacred prison, hehehe..

Thank God, my parents also granted my wish to go to school. Finally, my parents and I conducted a survey of several reference Islamic boarding schools, from the closest to the farthest, from salafy to modern ones.

After surveying a number of places I found a boarding school which I thought seemed like a good fit for me in this place and I would be comfortable in this place, it's not far from home, it's only about 1 hour from home.

Until the day came, I left for the Islamic boarding school accompanied by my family. The first two days of living in Islamic boarding schools, I feel very comfortable and at home because boarding is my own will, but actually, even though my determination to attend boarding school is high, there is still a bit of an air of wanting to go home hehee.

I was at the Islamic boarding school for 2 years, starting from class 2 MTs to class 3 MTs. there are so many experiences and impressions that I got while in Islamic boarding schools, for me Islamic boarding schools provide very meaningful lessons. Living in a boarding school taught me how to live independently, away from my parents, younger siblings, siblings, and even relatives who always accompany mePreviously allow me to introduce myself first. Maybe at the Islamic boarding school I did not feel love directly from my parents, but especially at the Islamic boarding school we felt love and togetherness with friends who were like family.

Activities at the cottage are very busy, starting at 3 am getting up for the night prayer (if you get up), followed by the congregation for the morning prayer, after that getting ready to go to school, coincidentally the Islamic boarding school where I live has a school and the school is in the same complex as the boarding school pesantren, after school I tidy up to prepare for the afternoon recitation.

Yes, actually living in a boarding school is good, just studying, going to school, reciting the Al Qur’an, eating, sleeping hehe but there are so many people who don't like living in a boarding school, including me, who has high determination.

Talking about togetherness, in Islamic boarding schools the togetherness between students is very strong. I remember, if visiting time came when a student's parents came to visit their child, the student's guardian must have brought rice for their child and other students who lived in the same room.

It was from the packages that the togetherness of the students was very visible, before eating we put the rice packets together so that we could eat together, fighting over each other because it was so crowded, but that has become commonplace so that the togetherness is getting closer.

I am proud to live in a boarding school because in a boarding school I know a little about religion. I am proud to live in a boarding school because in a boarding school I was taught to live simply.

I am proud to live in a boarding school because I can feel the joy of togetherness that I cannot get when living outside.

I am proud to live in a boarding school because I was educated to be an Islamic human being. And I am proud to live in a boarding school because from the boarding school I know that the knowledge of the world and the hereafter must be balanced so that there are no wrong steps.

Actually there is much more about life in Islamic boarding schools as well as stories that might be said to be mystical or scary. But this story I take the main parts only. Enough of my short story, I hope this is useful, especially for you, Thank you.
